In the early twentieth century, a young Italian named Antonio Pasin dreamed of a better life for himself in America. His family supported his dreams, sell their meager belongings to finance the trip. Antonio Pasin left his parents and friends behind at the tender age of sixteen, and traveled to Chicago. Pasin came from a line of carpenters and hoped to find work as a carpenter. Instead, the teenager worked various odd jobs until he finally saved the money for his own workshop and wood material work.

In 2003 Pasin was praised for his innovative ideas with the ultimate prize. The Toy Industry Hall of Fame inducted 44 Pasin as inventor of the toy, honoring the creative spirit that has driven the Radio Flyer where they are today.
